This symbol is based on extensive research and photos of the empty tomb of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, where He was laid following The Crucifixion.

The design is open, or "cut-out" to signify that on that 3rd day, the stone was rolled away, leaving the doorway open to reveal that Jesus had risen from the dead, both in body and spirit, leaving the tomb empty.

The engraving on the front is the Greek word Anastasis, meaning Resurrection in the context that Jesus used in John 11:25 when He said:

"I am the Resurrection and the Life."
